Pale golden yellow with coppery reflections. Delicate hints of rose petals, some marshmallow, nuances of quince and nougat, inviting bouquet. Tight, white stone fruit, fresh acidity, relatively light-footed, balanced and persistent, a versatile companion at the table. Its grapes grow in the oldest vineyard of Podersdorf am See. Winemaking at this location was already documented in 1782.

Our Grauburgunder Ried Rohrjoch reveals itself in a radiant bright golden yellow with fascinating coppery reflections, which underline its uniqueness. The bouquet delicately hints at rose petals and marshmallow, accompanied by nuances of quince and nougat, inviting and seducing the senses.

The Ried Rohrjoch is the oldest vineyard of Podersdorf am See and holds a rich history. Already during the josefinian colonization from 1782-1785, winemaking at this location was documented. Grauburgunder, also known as Ruländer or Grauer Mönch, is the most historically significant grape variety of our estate, cultivated by the Cistercian monks in Podersdorf am See.

The soil in which this special Grauburgunder grows is clayey sand, predominantly sandy loam, mostly with small coarse components (gravel), and has a high lime content.
