Vintage 2023

Vintage 2023

Dear wine lovers,

We are pleased to offer you an exclusive insight into the wine vintage of 2023. A year full of challenges and triumphs that has tested our passion for premium wines. Let us delve together into the intricacies of this year.

The Weather Rollercoaster

In 2023, nature surprised us with a rollercoaster of weather conditions. A dry winter followed by warm and cool days in March set the stage. Much-needed rain for our vineyards and Lake Neusiedl arrived only in April. The cool spring delayed the budburst of the vines, but the warm growing period from the second half of May onwards ensured excellent growth.

The heatwave from June to early August presented further challenges, but thanks to summer rains and warm temperatures in August and September, grape ripening progressed rapidly. The autumnal temperature changes between day and night finally created the optimal conditions for the final ripening of the grapes.

The Pride of the Harvest

Although the harvest, completed in mid-October, may have been somewhat lower than the previous year, we are all the more enthusiastic about the exceptional quality of the grapes. Markus Lentsch emphasizes: “The harvest quantity is slightly less compared to last year, but we are all the more pleased with very good wine quality.” These words reflect our dedication and pride in the fruits of our labor.

The Art of Vinification

The wines of the 2023 vintage are currently resting in our cellar, evolving under our care until they are ready for bottling. We look forward to soon presenting you with these wines, characterized by delicate fruit aromas and typical elegance.
